HRConnect Music Podcast
Hello everyone,
I was talking to my friend Matt about some of the podcasts that he listens
to in order to find out what's going on in the epic metal music scene. I
had thought about working on a technology podcast some time ago, but never
got around to going forward with it. But we got to talking, and decided to
give it a shot to do a podcast that focuses on music from Hampton Roads.
Goals
The goals of our podcast will be simple :
* Accept submissions from local artists of original music
* Publish them in a podcast that is a compilation
* This will allow us to keep up and discover local music
We plan to accept mostly all genres such as
country, Rock, Rap, Punk, Jazz, Electronic, Spoken Word, etc.
We would like to avoid "church music," however.
I'm still trying to figure out how to handle explicit lyrics versus
clean lyrics. It depends on what the makeup is of the submissions if
we will split the podcasts up, or rotate shows to focus on genres.
We cannot accept cover songs, as we aren't planning to pay mechanical
reproduction royalties. We aren't looking for mixtapes, that is
people mixing other people's electronic or hiphop music.
It would be beneficial to us both if the recordings are done as good
as possible. Clean highs, solid lows, you know the idea.
Upon giving us a song to put on the podcast, you are giving us the rights
to add and distribute electronic and physical copies of your work. We agree
to in no way charge for the electronic of physical copies, ever. We are
looking at neat features of the mp3 format with regards to displaying full
band / artist information.
So you want in!!
For the time being, please email us the following if you want one
of your songs to be featured on the podcast :
Your Name
The band/artist name as it should appear and be read
The song name you would like featured.
Attach a mp3 or OGG compressed file, or a pointer to a place online
where we can get the song. Myspace or other online sites are fine.
You can email us at:
hrcmusic@hrconnect.com
Notice - you will need to retype the address in the to line in your email program, do not cut & paste!
Thanks everyone!!
